The raw rubber of condensation type two-component room-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber is usually hydroxyl-terminated polysiloxane, but its vulcanization reaction is not initiated by moisture in the air but by a catalyst. The rubber compound is packaged and stored in two parts, and there are three forms of sub-packaging. The most important one is to package the catalyst and the crosslinking agent separately. No matter which packaging method is adopted, curing only begins when the two components are completely mixed together.
The packaging form of the comprehensive two-component room temperature vulcanizing silicone rubber
| packaging form | Component A | Component B |
|
1 |
Silicone raw rubber, filler, crosslinking agent |
catalyst |
| 2 | Silicone raw rubber, filler | Crosslinking agent, catalyst |
| 3 | Silicone raw rubber, filler, crosslinking agent | Silicone raw rubber, filler, catalyst |
The first type is the main packaging form of the product. It can control the curing speed by changing the amount of catalyst used. However, due to the small amount of catalyst used, it is prone to dosage errors during application.
The second type is also a commonly used formula. As its B component contains a crosslinking agent, the amount is much larger than that of the first method, and the mixing error is small when in use. The third packaging form is mainly designed to be divided into two components of equal mass for convenient use and is suitable for construction sites where fine weighing is not feasible, such as building sites.
