Silicone materials, as a new type of chemical material, are widely used as mold release agents in various material products and applications. There are various types of mold release agents based on silicone materials.

According to the product form characteristics, they are classified as follows:
1) Silicone oil type: The base material of the mold release agent is inert linear high-molecular silicone polymers such as methyl silicone oil, methyl phenyl silicone oil and various modified silicone oils;
2) Solvent-based: A solution prepared by taking the aforementioned silicone oil or silicone resin as the main component and adding organic solvents such as ethanol, toluene, and gasoline.
3) Emulsion type: It is an emulsion formulated by taking the above-mentioned silicone oil or silicone resin as the main component, and adding emulsifiers, water, etc.
Although compared with the difficulty of demolding plastic parts, the peel force of emulsion type mold release agents is relatively greater, and the number of continuous demolding applications is also less than that of solution type. However, as emulsion-type silicone mold release agents do not use organic solvents and cause almost no pollution to the environment, especially now that the requirements for environmental protection and personal hazards are getting higher and higher, the demand for water-based mold release agents is increasing.
