What types of vulcanization mechanisms are there for high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber?

High-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber can be classified into two major categories based on the vulcanization mechanism: peroxide vulcanization and addition vulcanization.

Currently, peroxide vulcanized rubber accounts for the majority of high-temperature rubbers. Peroxide vulcanization has the advantages of low cost and reliability, but it also has many disadvantages, including yellowing after vulcanization, odor during production, peroxide residue in rubber, stickiness on the product surface, and the entry of peroxide decomposition products into the atmosphere.

Addition vulcanization overcomes all the above-mentioned shortcomings, so most medical products are addition vulcanized.
