What is high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber?

High-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber, abbreviated as HTV, is also known as heat-vulcanized silicone rubber or solid silicone rubber. Its base polymer is high-molecular-weight linear polysiloxane (usually polydimethylsiloxane), with a molecular weight typically ranging from 400,000 to 800,000.

In its raw rubber state, it usually appears as a semi-transparent or milky white solid (such as rubber compound, raw rubber strip, rubber block, etc.) and has high plasticity.

Vulcanization (curing) must be carried out at a relatively high temperature (typically between 110°C and 180°C, or even higher), requiring the application of pressure and a certain vulcanization time (ranging from a few minutes to tens of minutes). This process is usually carried out in equipment such as molding, extrusion and calendering.
